DMS at the Austrian Retail Innovation Award 2019 — Applause for the Most Innovative In-Store Solution.

Out of more than 40 submissions for the Austrian Retail Innovation Award, a shortlist of the top projects was created in advance. Ultimately, nine companies were nominated for the award. The three winners were selected by a distinguished jury with support from ICONS.

Winner in the “Best In-Store Solution” category: the digitally optimized shelves developed by DMS, METRO, and AbHof!

Together with the direct marketer network ABhof and METRO Cash & Carry Digitale Mediensysteme GmbH has developed an innovative interactive solution for the POS: the AbHof Shelf. As a new sales channel, the shelf represents a forward-thinking in-store concept.

Regional farmers can showcase and sell their products directly through the AbHof Shelf. An integrated screen system allows farms to present their offerings and highlight their regional origins transparently. Among other features, consumers can access detailed information—such as farm locations and product descriptions—on their smartphones via QR codes.
