The building alone is a work of art — designed by the legendary Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Open daily all year round, KunstHaus Wien is one of Vienna’s most iconic attractions. And yes, every visit delivers a true wow experience. Thanks to internationally acclaimed exhibitions of contemporary art, KunstHaus Wien has become a cultural landmark. And of course, the permanent exhibition of Hundertwasser’s own works is a must-see. But how many visitors take in these masterpieces? That’s exactly what KunstHaus Wien wanted to know — and they turned to DMS to find the right solution.

Measuring visitor flows while staying fully GDPR compliant is no small feat. But at DMS, we say: challenge accepted. KunstHaus Wien wanted to know how many visitors entered the space, where they spent their time, and how long they stayed — from the upper floors to the shop. Our goal: to support continuous optimization of exhibit layouts and visitor experience. We focused on key areas like entrances, exits, staircases, and the museum shop, using advanced infrared sensors to deliver precise insights. Working with Irene Wolfram, Digital Marketing and Tourism Lead & Press Assistant at KunstHaus Wien, we delivered another wow-worthy solution — 100% GDPR-compliant. Our CTO, Daniel Dobler, led the technical implementation. From site inspection to system design, installation, and dashboard development, Daniel ensured everything ran smoothly and delivered measurable results.
