A Shout-Out to the Digital Screens on Patscherkofel.

At dms, we love innovations that inspire. And we also enjoy looking back on ideas from the past that made an impact—like this one, which takes things to new heights.

Since the reopening of the cable car, Innsbruck’s local mountain has taken things up a notch—especially in the digital realm. The new Patscherkofel cable car is now equipped with three digital screens at high altitude. That’s right—Patscherkofel has gone digital, with info screens installed at 2,248 meters above sea level.

A Serious High With Digital Screens.

2,248 meters—pretty extreme, right? The same goes for the outdoor displays that keep visitors informed both at the cable car station and at the summit. On-site, you'll find three “Xtreme” outdoor displays from the manufacturer Peerless-AV.

The Peak of Digitalization: Xtreme Outdoor Displays on Patscherkofel.

Who, what, where? If you've never been to Patscherkofel, here’s a quick snapshot: the newly reopened Patscherkofelbahn connects Innsbruck to its home mountain in the Tux Alps. In winter, 79 cabins operate, and in summer, around 50 cabins transport up to 2,000 people per hour to the top.

So, what can these “Xtreme” outdoor displays at the cable car and summit actually do? Well, the name says it all: “Xtreme.” These displays are impact-resistant, sealed, and offer excellent readability even in direct sunlight. Naturally, they’re also waterproof, dirt-resistant, and built to withstand the mountain’s harsh weather conditions.

Next time you're on Patscherkofel, let us know what you think of the displays. But we’re pretty confident you’ll be just as impressed with the “Xtreme” outdoor displays as we are. Why? Because they deliver real wow moments.
