Naturally, DMS was there: Katharina Wagner, Tommi Riegler, and Daniel Dobler explored the latest ideas and innovations on-site — and came away truly inspired. A wow event, and an absolute must for our team. And we’ll tell you right away which technologies impressed them most.
Barcelona, 30.1.2024: The Hot Spot for the Industry — and for Us at DMS.
On January 30, it finally kicked off: the 20th edition of ISE — Integrated Systems Europe. Until February 2, leading exhibitors showcased the most innovative technologies in the field — and of course, three of our DMS colleagues were right there in the middle of it: Katharina Wagner (COO), Tommi Riegler (Head of Technical Solutions), and Daniel Dobler (CTO). Spoiler alert: we’ll be publishing a follow-up blog soon with their personal impressions from the event. But we can already reveal this — they were blown away!

Three Innovations That Inspired Us.
At DMS, digital signage is part of our DNA — it’s what we do every day. As an integrator, we stay on the pulse of the latest digital solutions. And at ISE 2024, we had the chance to take an even closer look at three key innovations that stood out to us.
Visibly Innovative: Transparent LED Displays.
A particularly innovative form of display technology that is sure to become a common feature in digital signage: transparent LED displays. What makes them so impressive is that they display images and videos on a transparent LED screen. These displays are especially effective in retail — in shop windows, as striking partitions, or in many other settings. They’re perfect for digital signage because they allow content to be shown without obstructing the view. This way, physical spaces are digitally enhanced while still looking ultra-modern, with dynamic, interactive content on display. What’s new? Higher resolution (i.e. lower pixel pitch), slimmer designs, better integration options, and a more attractive price-performance ratio.
Great for Digital Signage: Micro LED Displays.
Another technology that makes digital signage even more fascinating: micro LED displays, which impress with their tiny LED components — in other words, with a very low pixel pitch of less than one millimeter. Perfect for unmatched image quality and rich color saturation. Has digital signage ever been more exciting? The high brightness, strong contrast ratios, energy efficiency, and especially long lifespan are truly impressive. Ideal for high-resolution, large-scale installations, micro LED displays deliver stunning visual experiences. Whether in retail, corporate environments, conference rooms, boardrooms, or foyers, they are high-end solutions — perfect for showcasing content in outstanding quality.
Absolutely Worth Reading: ePaper Solutions.
ePaper is a fascinating display technology: ePaper displays reflect light like regular paper instead of emitting it. This makes them easy to read under a wide range of lighting conditions. It’s another technology that’s becoming increasingly important in digital signage. These displays only consume power when the content changes, making them extremely energy efficient.
In retail, ePaper displays are particularly useful as price tags or information boards — saving time, money, and of course, paper. What’s new are the larger, full-color models. At ISE 2024, several providers showcased 25” and 32” versions. And there’s more to come: 43” ePaper displays are already on the horizon — and they look promising.
ISE 2024: Top or Top?
We honestly need a word that goes beyond “top” to sum it all up — we were truly impressed by the trade fair, the exhibitors, the conferences, the expert exchange, and, of course, the innovations. And remember, we only highlighted three of many standout technologies — there was so much more to discover that left us inspired!
