Vienna (OTS) — New regulations for supermarket access during the coronavirus pandemic have introduced new challenges, particularly for large retail stores. Beyond distributing face coverings, it is now essential to manage customer access more effectively to ensure proper distancing. Frequency monitoring and traffic light systems offer retailers a practical and easy-to-implement solution during these times.
On behalf of an internationally active retail group, DMS has started testing an innovative access system in 15 branches across Eastern Austria as of today, Friday. The system uses precise frequency monitoring and a traffic light mechanism to automatically track the number of customers. When a certain threshold is reached, a visual signal—such as a red light—alerts incoming shoppers.
This allows store employees to focus more on tasks like disinfecting carts and assisting customers without needing to manually monitor customer flow.
This access management system enhances customer safety during the pandemic and only requires a power connection. It’s easy to install and dismantle and is now available for rental (minimum rental period: two months).
