DMS at the Austrian Innovation Forum: It’s All About Conscious Innovation.

The annual forum for innovation and new growth is a get-together we definitely don’t want to miss — which is why Daniel Dobler, CTO at DMS, attended in person. Daniel is responsible for developing and implementing technology strategies at DMS. In other words, he creates wow experiences — consistently delivering state-of-the-art solutions that surprise and inspire.

Being part of an event like the Austrian Innovation Forum  is a valuable experience for him. On October 12 and 13, 2023, experts from a wide range of industries gathered at ERSTE Campus Vienna to explore the theme of Conscious Innovation.

But what exactly does Conscious Innovation mean — and what role does this concept play for us as a full-service agency and digitization partner?

In short: sustainability meets innovation. The current ecological situation presents serious challenges but also countless opportunities. And these opportunities must be seized — together. To do that, we need to rethink the future — something that comes naturally at DMS. It requires specific skills and tools to anticipate what’s next. Emerging technologies in energy and the environment, circular economy models, improved resource efficiency, and decarbonization are all creating entirely new business opportunities. But these new models depend on co-creation across company boundaries.

That was the core message of the 13th Austrian Innovation Forum, attended by more than 200 managing directors, entrepreneurs, heads of innovation, R&D, transformation, and strategy, as well as researchers and scientists — including, of course, our CTO Daniel Dobler.

Numerous speakers shared their expertise, including:

• Dr. Brigitte Bach, physicist and managing director at AIT Austrian Institute of Technology
• Stefan Benndorf, founder and managing partner of scaleon, and expert in strategy development, OKRs, KPIs, and digital business building
• Hanno Burmester, author of Unlearn. A Compass for Radical Transformation and senior trainer at isb Wiesloch, one of the leading systemic institutes in the German-speaking world
• Eva Czernohorszky, head of Technology Services at the Vienna Business Agency
• Philipp Eder, founder and managing director of EDDI Bike
• Edward Feltman, Startup Engagement & Investment Manager at VERBUND

Being there is a valuable experience for him: On October 12 and 13, 2023, the time had come. Experts from a wide range of industries met at ERSTE Campus Vienna to address the topic of “Conscious Innovation.”

How Did Daniel Sum Up His Impressions?

The talks were consistently interesting, including the workshops held in the glasshouse on the 13th floor, Daniel reports. The topics covered a wide spectrum — from innovations in traditional companies, like the Dialog Oven by Miele, which can cook a fish inside a block of ice without melting the ice, to solutions from start-ups and spin-offs like MyFlexBox. Other highlights included insights into how industrial companies like Scheuch are implementing innovation strategies, as well as presentations on future mega-projects.

It was all about innovation and inspiration — or, as we like to call it at DMS: modern talking. We’re glad Daniel was part of it and are sure his impressions will once again lay the foundation for many new wow experiences made by DMS. We’ll definitely be back — on October 10 and 11, 2024, when the 14th Austrian Innovation Forum takes place.
